Palma Ceia Closes Series A Funding to Accelerate Market Expansion into China

LOS ALTOS, Calif., Oct. 5, 2015 – Palma Ceia SemiDesign (“PCS”), a provider of analog and RF IP for next-generation WiFi and mobile communications, today announced it has completed a Series A round of financing. Dongfang Jingyuan Electron Limited, a China Oriental Group company, was the sole participant in the investment round and will be an active partner as Palma Ceia expands into China. The investment will provide operating capital and help the company broaden and accelerate product development needed to address collaborative opportunities to support emerging standards in China.

“This latest funding round will help further the development of our solutions for advanced WiFi and mobile communications and allow us to bring our technology to a wider range of next-generation applications. It will also allow us to more aggressively engage with customers in China, a key market for growth. The partnership with China Oriental Group will fast track our efforts, and thus expected success,” said Greg Walker, chief administrative officer of Palma Ceia.

Palma Ceia delivers analog and RF IP for mixed-signal SoCs, with a focus on emerging standards such as 802.11ac and 802.11ah for WiFi and LTE for mobile communications, targeted for fabrication at advanced process nodes. PCS solutions are differentiated by low-power, high-performance designs and fast delivery, and applications include broadband, wireless, medical and automotive products.
